Welcome!

I'm W. C.

I also answer to William.

My grandmother, who already stepped into eternity, is the only person who's permitted to call me Bill.

I create things with words, take great comfort in Science Fiction, write, speak, read, and believe.

A bit more about me (in the third person):

Bauers is a husband, father, speaker, believer, bibliophile, and author of children's books and science fiction.

Bauers' first novel, UNBREAKABLE, was an Amazon and B&N, Science Fiction & Fantasy Best Book-of-the-Month pick; UNBREAKABLE's protagonist, Promise Paen, is a blend of Katee Sackhoff's Starbuck meets STARSHIP TROOPERS, with a dash of Summer Glau from FIREFLY.

He lives in the Rockies with his family.

BECOMING PROMISE PAEN:

THE DEATH OF HUMILITY. THE RISE OF PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.
Sunday's sermon gave me a lot to think about. Am I a humble person? That was the question Gary Barkalow posed, and it stopped me in my tracks. I wanted to say, "Yes, and there's a lot of people who need a healthy does of it." Perhaps you see the problem. Continue Reading...

W.C. TALKS WITH ANNE LECKIE ABOUT ANCILLARY JUSTICE
I haven't enjoyed a book as much as ANCILLARY JUSTICE in a long time (book one in Ann Leckie's thought-provoking Imperial Radch Series). I'm delighted to interview her about her debut SF novel." Continue Reading...
W.C. TALKS WITH C.J. CHERRYH ABOUT FOREIGNER
I first read C. J. Cherryh’s Foreigner (a 1994 pub) last year, on the advice of my agent Cherry Weiner, a fellow Cherry. I know – what took me so long? Continue Reading...
